Paul Jefferies

Thanks for checking out my website. As a musician, I perform a lot, listen a lot and like to think I get people motivated to engage with live music (especially the wonderful creative art form which is jazz) wether that’s as members of an audience, performing with fellow musicians or teaching students.

As well as performing and teaching , I help create live music concerts together with my wife and partner Jayne and via our partnership The Little Live Music Company we host regular events in and around Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds. At these concerts and as a member of various ensembles, I’ve been privileged to have performed as bassist with a long list of incredibly talented, and above all musical musicians - you could say, a veritable who’s who of British jazz scene and beyond - long may it all continue!

If you’re keen to start playing bass, brush up your technique, learn to play jazz or want to work on your skills as a professional, I’d love to hear from you. As a latecomer to formal music education, I’ve had to create a strategy for learning that keeps things simple and objective. I teach double bass and bass guitar - classical, jazz, blues and pop/rock. Grades can be your objective, or simply getting you in shape to play your first gig or jam. Beginners of ages are especially welcome - get in touch and we can look at where you are and where you want to be, then decide together on the simplest way to get there.

Jayne and I established the Little Live Music Company several years ago to concentrate our efforts on creating live music (mainly jazz) concerts that accent on entertainment as well as cutting edge musicianship. With venues around Oxfordshire, the Cotswolds and beyond we host monthly events and provide a resource for anyone wanting top level jazz performers for events.
